A note from one of my middle school students on my last day of class.
There are a lot of reasons why I love teaching, but this note is a great example of how rewarding it can be. Leaving my current job now, there are a lot of things that I won’t miss very much. The students are who I really will miss. Regardless of what is going on with administration, my coworkers, or all of the extra work that gets piled on, time spent in the classroom making connections with the students and seeing them grow and make progress makes it hard to walk away at the end of the day.
